Como explica a EL PA\u00cdS por videoconferencia la catedr\u00e1tica del Instituto C\u00e9cile y Oskar Vogt de Investigaci\u00f3n Cerebral de la Universidad de D\u00fcsseldorf y directora del Instituto de Neurociencia y Medicina del Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n de J\u00fclich, esa complejidad radica en su organizaci\u00f3n en m\u00faltiples escalas espaciales y temporales: desde el nivel molecular, al de los grandes sistemas cognitivos que nos permiten hablar o recordar; de los milisegundos en que reaccionan sus c\u00e9lulas, a los cambios que experimenta durante toda nuestra vida.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div><\/header><div class=\"a_c clearfix\" data-dtm-region=\"articulo_cuerpo\"><p class=\"\">Desde 2016, Amunts tambi\u00e9n ha sido la directora cient\u00edfica del monumental<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.humanbrainproject.eu\/en\/\" data-link-track-dtm=\"\" data-mrf-link=\"https:\/\/www.humanbrainproject.eu\/en\/\" cmp-ltrk=\"articulo_cuerpo\" cmp-ltrk-idx=\"0\" mrfobservableid=\"a38e37c0-0df1-4b61-93b5-4b7e0f9a4024\">Human Brain Project<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>(Proyecto Cerebro Humano o HBP, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s),<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/ciencia\/2023-10-12\/un-macroproyecto-publica-el-atlas-del-cerebro-un-mapa-para-entender-que-nos-hace-humanos.html\" target=\"_blank\" data-link-track-dtm=\"\" data-mrf-link=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/ciencia\/2023-10-12\/un-macroproyecto-publica-el-atlas-del-cerebro-un-mapa-para-entender-que-nos-hace-humanos.html\" cmp-ltrk=\"articulo_cuerpo\" cmp-ltrk-idx=\"1\" mrfobservableid=\"925f69f3-a946-4433-867b-cf4d811b42f5\" rel=\"noopener\">uno de los mayores desaf\u00edos cient\u00edficos<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>nunca financiados por la Uni\u00f3n Europea, concluido tras una d\u00e9cada el pasado septiembre. En su marco se han logrado crear mediante supercomputadores modelos virtuales capaces de simular la actividad cerebral para mejorar el tratamiento de la epilepsia, las enfermedades neurodegenerativas, la esquizofrenia o la ceguera. Una fusi\u00f3n entre la neurociencia y la tecnolog\u00eda en la que han colaborado 155 instituciones de 19 pa\u00edses y que lega m\u00e1s de 3000 publicaciones cient\u00edficas, avances en inteligencia artificial, el<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.humanbrainproject.eu\/en\/science-development\/focus-areas\/brain-atlases\/\" data-link-track-dtm=\"\" data-mrf-link=\"https:\/\/www.humanbrainproject.eu\/en\/science-development\/focus-areas\/brain-atlases\/\" cmp-ltrk=\"articulo_cuerpo\" cmp-ltrk-idx=\"2\" mrfobservableid=\"e23e7ddb-0185-4d30-9c69-a262e1c61664\">atlas digital tridimensional<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>m\u00e1s detallado de este \u00f3rgano y una infraestructura de investigaci\u00f3n digital
